About the Job: The Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer - works in an agency IT division, performing application systems analysis and programming duties.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Confer with department management for planning and organizing activities.
- Collaborate with the user community for research and analysis to define system requirements.
- Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations.
- Prepare project feasibility studies, formulate system scope, project cost, time estimates, and human resource requirements.
- Assist, direct, train, and coordinate the work of less experienced developers.
- Function as Team and/or Project lead.
- Provide documentation for new or modified information systems and/or application software programs.
- Prepare specifications, conduct system test planning, design, code, and debug new or modified application software programs.
- Monitor application software systems for proper execution and performance.
Tech Skills
- Extensive knowledge of information systems design principles and new systems design techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of application development policies, standards, procedures, and techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of application development software tools and languages.
- Extensive knowledge of information technology equipment, operation, and capabilities.
