INTRODUCTION
Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacist performs a wide range of duties including dispensing of prescribed medications, patient teaching, and acting as a resource to the providers; site management, and technical operational support duties in an outpatient pharmacy setting.
MAJOR DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacist performs a wide range of duties including dispensing of prescribed medications, patient teaching, and acting as a resource to the providers; site management, and technical operational support duties in an outpatient pharmacy setting.
MAJOR DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for delineates and supervises all aspects of the pharmacy.
- Oversees and directs the duties of the Pharmacy Technicians.
- Identifies and recommends corrective or remedial action for misuse or abuse of pharmaceuticals.
- Assists in developing and generating of monthly and quarterly reports of the department activity as directed by the Health Center Director.
- Assures the ordering of adequate medication and other support materials to assure efficient and safe operations of the service.
- Follows infection control measures and procedures.
- Prepares and conducts training to nurses on the use of drugs and other pharmaceuticals or related issues.
- Recommends changes and updates to instructions, regulations, and other guidance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
- Licensure as a Pharmacist pursuant to Title2, Chapter 6 of the D.C. Code to provide pharmaceutical care services in the District of Columbia.
- Prior retail or community pharmacy experience.
- Two (2) years of clinical experience with supervisory experience preferred.
