Position Description

This role will focus on promoting and selling surveying services-including land surveying, topographic surveying, boundary surveys, hydrographic surveys, construction layout, and as-built survey services. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the surveying field, excellent relationship-building skills and a proven track record of surveying services sales.

Essential Functions
Identify, meet and develop rapport with those persons within target-companies who influence project decision management
Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the company's surveying services
Maintains and develop relationships and services existing/new clients
Develop and implement strategic plans for proposed projects.
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients/prospects
Respond to client's/prospect's questions and requests
Assist in proposal preparation and contract negotiations
Coordinate the writing of technical papers for publishing in appropriate trade journals
Ensure that Customer Relationship Management System is up to date and accurate
Participate in industry trade shows
Preparation of sales call reports
Continuously maintain product and industry knowledge and interpersonal skills
Work closely with the surveying and project management teams to ensure successful project handoffs and customer satisfaction
Provide feedback and market insights to help shape service offerings, pricing strategies, and marketing efforts

Requirements

Qualifications
5 - 10 years of experience in surveying or business development
Sales experience in the surveying industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of engineering requirements pertaining to the oil and gas industry
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills

Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Work Environment/Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for an office environment
Frequent sitting and operating a computer
Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials
