(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Serves as the functional administrative lead in collaboration with administrators, staff, and KSU leadership, providing leadership to university-level processes, policies, systems, and files related to faculty recruitment, faculty contracts, compensation, reappointment, leaves of absence, separations, promotion, and tenure. Provides strategic leadership by articulating Faculty Affairs needs and plans to department leadership. Leads and facilitates the execution of multiple Faculty and Academic Services functions. Collaborates with Institutional Quality and Accreditation to ensure SACSCOC accreditation compliance for faculty credentials. Provides leadership and administrative faculty training for executive management team in the Provost's Office, Deans and Academic Department Heads. Develops and recommends procedures that ensure accurate and efficient data management to enable the executive management team to make data-based decisions related to faculty hiring, retention, promotion, and salary administration. Responsible for supporting accurate data analysis, reporting, and data-enabled decision making. Assists internal and external stakeholders effectively and often serves on various committees as the Faculty Affairs representative to understand and administer changes in policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for oversight of Faculty Affairs and manages, develops and maintains performance management of assigned staff
2. Serves as the lead in responding to inquiries and provides assistance regarding KSU and Board of Regents policies and processes governing academic and administrative faculty
3. Establishes and monitors administrative processes regarding compliance with federal, state, KSU and Board of Regents regulations and policies
4. Leads technical initiatives related to faculty including, but not limited to, electronic systems for faculty data warehousing and oversee the introduction of new or revised information systems related to academic and administrative faculty
5. Serves as the backup data steward for all faculty data in the Office of the Provost
6. Oversees all faculty records information, consistent with KSU, Board of Regents, and SACS-COC requirements; facilitates the hiring of full-time and part-time faculty, including producing letters and contracts, credential verification; manages all aspects of maintaining faculty records data, which includes using the electronic imaging system and ensures faculty files are complete
7. Supervises all faculty data entry into OneUSG-MFE (Manage Faculty Events), Banner, and the Faculty Information System (FIS); assist the Fiscal Affairs Officer and the Budget Office with annual budget preparations by providing salary, position, and payroll information
8. Manage all aspects of faculty hiring for the University and conduct training sessions for the University community
9. Manage and oversee part-time and summer payroll
10. Oversees production and verification of faculty data for various national surveys and external reports (CUPA, IPEDS)
11. Serves as functional lead for managing and maintaining endowed chair and named positions and submitting endowed position requests to Board of Regents for approval
12. Serves as the primary liaison with teams in other units on campus representing both academic and administrative faculty affairs
13. Works closely with Legal Affairs, HR units, Payroll/Budget, and Academic College/Departments and administrative units
14. Facilitates positive relationships with our campus and state partners such as sister institutions and Board of Regents and serve as KSU's Office of Academic Affairs liaison
15. Establishes a positive working environment and promotes a high level of staff morale and a strong, cohesive team
16. Completes special projects at the direction of the unit leadership

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Required Experience
Eight (8) years of related experience with at least six (6) years of supervisory experience

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Faculty Management Systems)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
