The Applications Developer is responsible for supporting applications and data needs of our
customers and vendors. The successful candidate will provide application development in a
mainframe COBOL environment. The Developer will provide technical support of several enterprise
COBOL applications and EDI systems, including the design, development and implementation of
enhancements and new capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports the technical deliverables for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of EDI
    solutions.
  • Interpret business requirements; design, build and test processes to ensure a high level of data quality
    and optimal system performance.
  • Leads technical troubleshooting in support of critical business applications.
  • Responsible for technical documentation that includes architecture diagrams, process flow diagrams, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Provides status updates of work progress to the team and management.
  • Supports the definition, scope and technical estimates for portions of large complex projects.
  • Develop a good working relationship with a wide range of stakeholders to design end-to-end
    experiences.
  • Partner with other team members as well as cross-functional partners to support business processes
    and system solutions.
  • 5-7 years of Cobol Mainframe experience.
  • EDI solutions and tools a plus
  • Strong experience and proficiency in COBOL/CICS applications
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, prioritizing & interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to learn technology to solve business problems.
  • Ability to deliver assigned work tasks within project timelines.
  • Ability to communicate to project team, business partners and senior management with the appropriate
    information at each level.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with enterprise applications in a corporate system environment including Accounts Payable,
    Purchase Order Management and Inventory solutions.
  • Experience with EDI tools, managing trading partners and processing transactions.
  • Experience effectively managing third party and vendor relationships and service levels.
