As an Engineer, Body Electronics Design Responsible Engineer (DRE), you will play a key role in the electrical hardware design of all body electronics modules, sensors, and actuators from concept to production launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop body electronics components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
- Work with Purchasing and Finance teams to develop technical specifications for quoting and sourcing components.
- Collaborate with Clients module owners, and suppliers to release body control components.
- Participate in virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
- Contribute to the design of production facilities for Clients trucks & SUVs.
- Manage supplier resources effectively to meet cost, timing, and quality targets.
- Continuously improve designs based on consumer experience feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture while promoting professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in body electrical and/or electromechanical systems design and release within the automotive industry.
- Strong expertise in body control systems, applying a Six Sigma approach to engineering and problem-solving.
- Experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with teams across all levels of an organization.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a problem-solving mindset.
