Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Project Manager, Activations and Insights. This is a hybrid opportunity, and we are seeking candidates local to the Chicagoland area.

The Project Manager, Activations and Insights, Develops and manages comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables and ensures measurement of progress towards outcomes and impact. Reporting to the Program Manager, Activation and Insights, this role executes a strategy that promotes the flow of information and knowledge across platforms (i.e. data platforms, webpages, clinical tools) to enable accessible and actionable data and insights. The Project Manager, Activation and Insights understands when and how to use the right processes, tools and templates, and assembles and manages the project team. They facilitate meetings across various stakeholder groups to deliver successful outcomes. This role builds and executes change management plans and applies data literacy skills to ensure stakeholders have a shared understanding of projects.

Essential Job Functions
  • Strategy Execution (20%)
  • Understands how projects align with organizational priorities and executes work to meet strategic targets.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of business operations across clinical and non-clinical departments to drive effective project execution and decision-making
  • Understands and maintains a well-documented business case for each project, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities
  • Fosters an innovation mindset to help stakeholders translate objectives into detailed, actionable, and sustainable initiatives
  • Relationship Building & Communication (20%)
  • Builds valued relationships with multidisciplinary teams, enabling on-going and effective partnerships to achieve success.
  • Cultivates a culture of open dialogue and active feedback, ensuring stakeholders and team members feel heard and valued
  • Identifies differences or disagreements among business and technology stakeholders; facilitates involvement, collaboration, and communication to resolve issues quickly
  • Provides timely and transparent communication about decisions, plans, goals, strategies and how projects support and further organizational goals.
  • Employs strategies to organize and communicate complex information clearly and simply to drive actions.
  • Communicates to diverse audiences ensuring information is credible, digestible, and easily understood.
  • Assist in grant writing, funding proposals, and stakeholder presentations to support new initiatives and partnerships
  • Understands the value and timing of when to escalate issues for resolution.
  • Data Governance & Literacy (20%)
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across the organization
  • Documents and monitors data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure integrity, accuracy, and security
  • Understands how to gather information and conduct analysis to gain a full understanding of issues and problems, including root cause identification.
  • Anticipates functionality/system/ application problems based on experience.
  • Leverages data storytelling techniques to present complex data insights in clear and engaging manner
  • Establishes and maintains data documentation, including data sources, methodologies, and analysis processes
  • Project Management & Implementation (30%)
  • Develops and manages comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Monitors project progress, proactively identifies risks and issues, and implements effective mitigation strategies
  • Identifies, manages to, and achieves clear objectives and measurements of success for all efforts
  • Drives continuous improvement by analyzing project outcomes and incorporating lessons learned
  • Assists in development and execution of pilot programs aimed at testing and scaling evidence-based practices
  • Applies change management principles to accelerate the adoption of new methodologies and best practices
  • Works closely with faculty, clinicians, educators, and administrators to execute simulation programs tailored to healthcare training needs
  • Understands vendor contracting processes and manages vendor engagement once contract is signed.
  • Other Tasks as Assigned (10%)
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to healthcare innovation, implementation science, and organizational change
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of the healthcare system and implementation science initiatives


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical, business or health care field
  • 3 - 8+ years previous project management experience
  • Solid understanding of project management tools
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven data literacy
  • Knowledge of data governance principles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead group discussions.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities or Solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex information in an accessible manner
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and senior stakeholders
  • Capable of working in a matrixed environment


Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PMI_ACP are preferred)
  • Health care industry or consulting experience
  • Demonstrated successful utilization of multiple project management methodologies

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
