Reporting to the Manager of IT Infrastructure and Security, The IT Analyst is responsible for IT solution operational support, providing Level 1 triage support and Level 2 technical investigations as required. The IT Analyst is the designated backup for the Manager, IT Infrastructure and Security for operational issues. IT Analyst support involves monitoring operational solutions, configuring laptop hardware and business software solutions, resolving user network access and connectivity issues. The IT Analyst also contributes to business system designs and assists the Business Solutions team where applicable. The IT Analyst will:
The ideal candidate will have a college diploma in Information Technology, or an acceptable combination of education and recent direct experience. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, or Microsoft Fundamentals certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals) are considered assets.
Coupled with Demonstrated experience in the information technology field providing end-user technical support. Demonstrated experience using M365, Microsoft Forms, Power Automate, and Power BI to automate the collection, processing, and management of operational data. Experience configuring and supporting IT infrastructure, including printers, routers, switches, and access points.

Salary Range: $80,717 - $94,962 (Band 6)

- Be the primary contact for staff contacting help desk, conduct Level 1 and 2 analysis/troubleshooting.
- Maintain and upgrade existing systems and solutions as required.
- Collaborate with the IT team to resolve issues and ensure hardware and infrastructure is functional and reliable.
- Design, develop, and deploy solutions within the organization's architectural and security principles, policies, and guidelines.
- Create system guidelines and manuals for the organization.
- Liaise with third party application providers regarding problem resolution, system administration, and software upgrades.
- Provide advice and training to end users regarding the proper configuration and use of hardware and solutions.

- Networking and Infrastructure
- Comprehensive understanding of networking principles, including IP addressing, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, and NAT.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues using tools and commands such as:
- Ping for verifying connectivity and response times between devices.
- Traceroute to identify network path issues.
- SSH for secure remote access and basic configuration of network devices.
- Telnet for diagnosing legacy network services or checking port availability.
- Familiarity with setting up and managing network devices, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Basic understanding of VLANs and their role in network segmentation.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of computer operating systems, particularly Windows desktop and server environments (e.g., Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022).
- Ability to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop hardware, including PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Basic understanding of networking principles, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and access points.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, including user account management and group policies.
- Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
- Understanding of server hardware and basic server maintenance, including backups, and patch management.
- General knowledge and capability in IT security, including antivirus management, software patching, and user access control.
- Application and User Support:
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, M365 (including SharePoint Online), Adobe Suite, Microsoft Forms, Power Automate, and Power BI with the ability to provide technical support and training to end users.
- Capability to deploy and support mobile devices, including iOS and Android.
- Familiarity with IT helpdesk systems and remote support tools.
- Problem Solving and Communication:
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to diagnose technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to users with varying levels of computer understanding.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests and escalate issues when needed.
- Additional Requirements:
- Availability to attend after-hours support as scheduled and provide troubleshooting and/or support during evenings and/or weekends as required.
- Class G Driver's License in good standing and a reliable vehicle for corporate business.
- Familiarity with PMBOK principles and the System Design Life Cycle (SDLC).
