The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Job Description
Cox Enterprises is hiring an experienced non-practicing attorney with a strong background in real estate transactions to join our Enterprise Real Estate Transactions team. This role provides a unique opportunity for a legal professional to leverage their real estate expertise outside of traditional legal practice, driving strategic real estate initiatives that directly impact Cox's business growth.
Reporting to the Director of Real Estate Transactions, this individual will play a key role in shaping and executing real estate strategies across Cox's business units. The Senior Manager will manage critical lease deadlines, oversee portfolio reviews, and support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) through real estate due diligence and integration efforts. This role offers significant autonomy, allowing for creative problem-solving and strategic execution with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage real estate transactions, including lease renewals, acquisitions, relocations, terminations, buyouts, and property acquisitions/dispositions.
- Conduct real estate due diligence (lease abstracts, survey reviews, environmental studies, etc.) for Cox's M&A activities.
- Support integration, planning, and execution for newly acquired businesses.
- Collaborate with and direct nationwide brokerage consultants.
- Coordinate legal review and negotiation of transaction documents (leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, etc.).
- Gather and analyze real estate market data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop market overview presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Manage operational real estate transactions, including easements, condemnations, and encroachments.
- Review and interpret lease agreements to guide internal teams.
- Assist in financial analysis to support portfolio strategy decisions.
- Draft lease-related notices and amendments as needed.
Who You Are

What You Bring
- Juris Doctor (JD) with 3+ years of experience in real estate transactions or a related legal field.
- Experience in corporate M&A transactions is a plus.
- Deep understanding of commercial real estate principles, regulations, and contracts.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for strategic thinking.
- Experience presenting to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with diverse real estate portfolios and growth businesses is a plus.
- Financial analysis skills are a plus but not required.
