We area growing and dynamic company seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead andexecute complex capital projects that enhance our operations and drive businesssuccess. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive projectmanagement experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborateacross departments to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficiency.

KeyResponsibilities

ProjectLeadership & Management
  • Lead, manage, and execute high-value CAPEX projects in collaboration with Operations and Finance Directors, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Develop and implement project strategies, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to drive project success.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle from conception to completion, including feasibility studies, scope definition, design, execution, and post-project evaluation.
  • Track project schedules and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with production goals and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead current and future cultivation and post-harvest projects, including building retrofits and new expansion initiatives.
  • Coordinate project planning with external contractors and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless execution.

Engineering& Facility Management
  • Provide technical leadership in facility design, expansion, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Evaluate, select, and oversee the installation and maintenance of critical equipment for cannabis cultivation and processing.
  • Work with Procurement to secure necessary equipment and services, reviewing and recommending contracts.
  • Develop and manage equipment selection, procurement, and installation logistics to meet targeted production dates.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

OperationalSupport & Continuous Improvement
  • Support cultivation, production, and maintenance teams in achieving operational excellence.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost efficiencies, and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Health Canada regulations, in a GPP/GMP facility.
  • Handle ad hoc responsibilities as required to support business needs and operational efficiency.

Qualifications& Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field); a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience managing capital projects in manufacturing, agriculture, or related industries, with a strong track record of successful project execution.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and drive team performance.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies, risk assessment, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of GPP/GMP standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, procurement processes, and installation schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
