Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with National Radiation Oncology Program (NROP) accreditation standards.
- Adhere to ACR, ASTRO, and AAPM guidelines for radiation oncology services.
- Provide evidence that services meet or exceed clinical guidelines.
- Perform routine quality assurance testing and calibration of radiation therapy equipment.
- Provide expertise in Varian TrueBeam, Eclipse Treatment Planning System, and Aria EMR.
- Conduct acceptance testing and commissioning of linear accelerators and related equipment.
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and Therapists to ensure optimal treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality assurance processes and compliance reports.
- Assist in the development and implementation of radiation safety procedures.
- Participate in research, clinical trials, and the integration of new technologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's in Medical Physics or related field.
- Certification: Board Certified Medical Physicist.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent work experience within the last 3 years.
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience in quality assurance procedures.
- Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam, Eclipse Treatment Planning, IGRT, and IMRT QA.
- Experience in acceptance testing and commissioning of radiation therapy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and quality assurance procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in VA healthcare or government-contracted radiation oncology services.
- Knowledge of national VA guidelines for Radiation Oncology Services.
