Role Description
Your Role
This role will lead Region North America commercial assessments and analysis for new products within the LEO Pharma portfolio (or those being evaluated), optimizing their potential value to patients and other stakeholders. You will assess business development opportunities, evaluate market potential for new products and lifecycle management initiatives, develop strategic program recommendations based on insights and data, and ensure successful commercialization within Region NA.
The Associate Director, Market Assessment & New Product Planning will also engage with global colleagues to evaluate asset maximization opportunities for portfolio assets. This is a hybrid role, based out of LEO's Madison, NJ office, reporting to the Chief of Staff.

Role Description
Your Role

You will assess business development opportunities, evaluate market potential for new products and lifecycle management initiatives, develop strategic program recommendations based on insights and data, and ensure successful commercialization within Region NA.
The Associate Director, Market Assessment & New Product Planning will also engage with global colleagues to evaluate asset maximization opportunities for portfolio assets. This is a hybrid role, based out of LEO's Madison, NJ office, reporting to the Chief of Staff.
Your Responsibilities
New Product Planning, Business Development, & Lifecycle Management:
- Evaluate and prioritize potential in-licensing and acquisition candidates based on market opportunity, strategic fit, and financial attractiveness within the US and Canada, in collaboration with Business Development
- Build robust business cases for new product development and lifecycle management initiatives, incorporating revenue projections, pricing strategies, and market access considerations for the US and Canada, working closely with market access and analytics/forecasting
- Collaborate with global teams to provide regional market insights; sit on new product planning global team meetings representing Region NA
- Contribute to the development of regional launch strategies and tactical plans for new products and line extensions.
Market Assessment & Opportunity Evaluation:
- Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, unmet needs, and emerging trends within dermatology for Region NA
- Utilize various data sources and methodologies (e.g., secondary research, market reports, claims data, competitor intelligence, etc.) to size market opportunities and forecast future market potential
- Develop detailed market landscape assessments, including competitor profiling, SWOT analysis, and treatment algorithms, incorporating market dynamics (e.g., national access, reimbursement)
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with Business Development, Market Access, and Analytics/Forecasting teams within North America to ensure alignment on market assessments, product development strategies, and launch plans
- Work closely with global early asset team, serving as the point person for Region NA, providing regional expertise / perspectives, and ensuring alignment
Contribution to Priority Projects:
- Flexibly support other priority projects and analyses as needed within Region NA
Your Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required. Advanced degree (MSc, MBA, PhD) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical/medical industry experience or related consulting experience
- Direct experience in commercial strategy, new product planning or commercial assessment preferred
- Familiarity with US market access and reimbursement landscape; experience with Canada a plus. Understanding of sales/marketing requirements and key commercial processes required
- Ability to think holistically, align complementary commercial insights, and prioritize key projects to deliver with optimal impact
- Ability to recognize and obtain actionable insights
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional projects and teams with multiple stakeholders (including senior leadership)
- Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to appropriately define and frame issues, questions and data; to perform accurate analysis; and to think creatively about different ways to analyze data and information
- Strong financial acumen with experience generating forecasts and business cases
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to establish logical flow and key points to realize objectives
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point required
- Ability to handle confidential information and data with the utmost care and demonstration of highest ethical standards
