EXD Geophysics Lead Americas

The Area Geophysicist is responsible for serving as lead applied geophysicist in a business work group, providing appropriate, defensible solutions to the geophysical challenges encountered. The Area Geophysicist applies expertise to advise customers on a course of action and ensure project teams execute projects in a way that meets the customers' overall objectives as well as company goals.

• Provide geophysics related solutions that make good business sense and meet quality expectations. Exercise authority with regard to quality; be responsible for stopping a job if necessary.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of processing software and workflows.
• Constantly strive to maximize the use of appropriate technologies to respond to customer needs and increase revenue.
• Understand the assumptions, limitations and interactions of available acquisition tools, survey design and modeling, data processes and reservoir characterization.
• Use understanding of data, systems, processes and customer challenges to direct sensible, economic and justifiable workflows. Guide testing and confirmation of the predicted versus actual response of the data.
• Participate in review of bids and contracts for technical pitfalls and opportunities.
• Share knowledge extensively. Mentor staff. Communicate with the regional technology hub, headquarters and other organizations, such as Research and Engineering. Communicate externally on company technologies with customers and at local society conferences.
• Represent the company in the technical aspects of a project and be of equivalent or higher technical knowledge level than the customer's own geophysicists.
