JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, development and supervision of the United Brokerage Services, Inc. Financial Advisors. The Sales Manager is directly accountable for the attainment of recruiting goals in addition to achieving established targets in sales, revenue growth, and profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attract, retain and motivate the team to achieve management business objectives and maintain a favorable employee relations climate by creating an empowering and performance-based culture
Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of Financial Advisors
Responsible for coaching and developing the Financial Advisors through trainings, 1x1s, role plays, and developmental plans
Provide guidance and direction to Financial Advisors to assist them in performing their duties and to help them achieve their individual goals
Supervision through field visits and measurement of results, as well as periodically sitting in on sales appointments for observation and coaching
Drive Financial Advisor adoption of key division initiatives such as Envision financial plans, electronic annuity processing (e.g. SmartStation or Firelight), and insurance revenue
Develop partnership with Wealth Management (Bank Trust Division) while fostering teamwork and cross referral opportunities
Takes ownership of sales initiatives and seeks best course of action to achieve those goals
Interfacing with senior executives and build relationships across various stakeholders to enable the business to achieve its objectives and to ensure initiatives are executed as planned
Bring thought-leadership, insight and intellectual curiosity to the team and to explore strategies for maximizing business opportunities for the group
Establish and maintain relationships with local bank personnel including Bank Branch Management, Regional Retail Sales Managers, Market Presidents, and other Line of Business Managers to gain support, backing, and cooperation in promoting UBSI's investment program
Responsible for regulatory, legal and compliance issues including: risk management in regards to monitoring sales, human resources, and legal and regulatory practices. Develops and executes comprehensive strategy/business plans for growth
Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations, identify changes affecting the sales force and take appropriate action to notify staff and to ensure compliance with changes
Provide input and feedback on products appropriate and necessary for helping clients meet their investment goals
Build trust and rapport through all interactions to deliver the right outcomes for the business; driving a "client first" mindset across all strategic initiatives
Prepare reports, business correspondence, and develop procedure manuals
Effectively present data and educate others on inquiries and products offered
Has a thorough understanding of the Firm's products and those of its strategic partners; uses this knowledge to provide resources and direction in order to drive sales.
Qualifications
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum of ten (10) years of sales and investment experience to include exposure to all facets of sales, business development, and customer service required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing staff within a financial sales environment required
Series 7, 24, 63, 65, or 66 plus requisite state Life/Health Insurance and Annuity Licenses required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to travel as required. Travel probably 75-80% of the time (not all overnight) This position will be in the field the majority of the time
