Role Summary

We are seeking a visionary Director of IT to lead our technology initiatives across the organization. This role will be tasked with driving innovation, scalability, and efficiency in IT operations, fostering a collaborative environment with development teams, while managing and implementing robust security strategies. The ideal candidate is a transformational leader with a passion for modern software development, cloud technologies, automation, and cybersecurity best practices. Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Define and refine IT strategies to support Agile and DevOps transformations.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to IT, DevOps, and security teams.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to align IT goals with business objectives.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
  • Security Oversight: Ensure robust security measures are in place, conducting audits and compliance checks regularly.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline development and IT operations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present IT initiatives and updates to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Incident Management: Respond to and mitigate IT security incidents and infrastructure failures.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Analyze system performance and implement improvements.
  • Training & Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and upskilling within the IT team.


Technology Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a long-term technology roadmap that aligns with business objectives and supports Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Lead the adoption of an automation-driven IT strategy to optimize development and deployment workflows.
  • Champion Agile and DevOps methodologies across the organization, driving a culture of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Partner with development and business teams to implement best-in-class IT solutions that enhance software delivery and business efficiency.
  • Oversee the implementation of new technology systems, including project planning, vendor selection, and deployment.
  • Promote and implement a modern system-to-system data architecture and integration capability that builds and supports bridges between systems


IT Infrastructure & Operations
  • Oversee infrastructure (Cloud and on-Prem), network architecture, and IT systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Establish and refine IT governance processes to support Agile software development lifecycles.
  • Lead automation efforts to improve operational efficiency, including infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management.
  • Champion compliance with industry standards, frameworks, and regulations such as SOC2, ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
  • Oversee the IT budget, managing costs associated with hardware, software, cloud, and vendor contracts.


Security & Compliance
  • Instill a security-first mindset across all IT initiatives, ensuring that security is embedded in development, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Work closely with internal Risk teams to implement and maintain best practices in cybersecurity and conduct regular risk assessments.
  • Develop and enforce identity and access management (IAM), zero-trust architectures, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Ensure incident response and disaster recovery plans are regularly updated and tested.


Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Develop and manage IT procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and scalable technology investments.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts with software, hardware, and cloud service providers.
  • Establish relationships with key technology vendors and partners to support business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, licensing agreements, and budget constraints.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with third-party vendors and technology purchases.


Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor IT, DevOps, and security teams, fostering a high-performance, innovation-driven culture.
  • Advocate for a collaborative and cross-functional approach between IT, Development, Data, and Sales and Solutions business units.
  • Implement training programs to upskill teams in Agile, DevOps, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.


Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud technologies.
  • Proven experience in managing IT teams and projects.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity and data protection practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Business acumen and ability to align IT strategies with business goals.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP) may be preferred.


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a strong background in software development, cloud architecture, and DevOps practices.
  • Proven experience leading Agile transformations and DevOps adoption within a software development firm.
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern infrastructure technologies.


Technical Skills
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, containerization, and microservices architectures.
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, DevSecOps, and security best practices.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
