Typical Responsibilities

In this position, you will work directly under the Deputy Director to oversee architectural and vertical construction functions within EPW, ensuring the successful planning, design, and execution of municipal projects. You will guide a team of architects and design professionals through all stages of project development, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Your role will be key in ensuring the architectural division's success in delivering projects that contribute to the development of Juneau's infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years professional experience as a registered Engineer, Architect, or Land Surveyor that includes managing projects in a designated field of practice or specialty as defined by the position description.
Licensure: Alaska state law requires incumbents to be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE), Architect, or Professional Land Surveyor (PS) as defined by the position description.
Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
A valid Drivers' License is required at time of appointment and for continued employment.
Supplemental Information
Pay is Dependent on Experience (DOE). The pay will be commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings to the position.
