About the Role:
Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Systems Analyst will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, while also working closely with the IT team to enhance system functionality. This role involves analyzing financial data, ensuring seamless software integration, and optimizing workflows to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the integration of QuickBooks into the company's proprietary internal system, ensuring accuracy in data flow and reporting.
- Manage accounting tasks, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bookkeeping, journal entries, and cost accounting.
- Analyze financial data, tracking cost per unit and cost per customer to enhance financial planning and business insights.
- Collaborate with the software development team to design user-friendly client-facing accounting pages, helping clients track orders, payments, and balances.
- Conduct financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and generating financial reports.
- Work with IT teams to implement system improvements and automate accounting processes.
- Audit and review transactions for accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
- Identify opportunities for accounting system enhancements and process improvements.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, or a related field.
- 3 years of accounting experience (AP, AR, bookkeeping, cost accounting).
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks and financial system integrations.
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and data analysis).
- Experience working in a technology-driven environment with a strong understanding of software integration.
- Industry experience in manufacturing or retail is a plus, particularly in tracking unit costs.
- Ability to work fully on-site and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in streamlining financial workflows.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI is an asset
