Description:
We are seeking an Estimator to join our federal team supporting our HVAC and HVAC Building Automation System service projects for various project sites across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role serves as a key contributor to the sales team, supporting the Mid-Atlantic Region sales team in the profitable growth of the federal business by providing pre and post-sales support including project estimation, customer management and installation, and service sales. This role supports engineering, process or estimating tasks during solution design or during detailed development on large complex projects. Responsible to establish an ongoing partnership with the customer on assigned projects.

Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000 plus bonus incentive. Negotiable based on experience.

Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year
Travel Required: Approximately 25% across the Mid-Atlantic region
As a Service Projects Estimator, you will:
Lead, develop and provide estimating support for HVAC and HVAC Building Automation System (BAS) projects for existing and new customers in assigned market. Collaborates with application engineers and other personnel on larger projects
Builds a detailed cost estimate and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with Operations and Sales. Assists in preparing proposals and other customer communication documents.
Support sales in opportunity development, sales and closure of opportunities at the direction of the sales lead
Performs detailed estimating analysis to quantify cost savings or other cost benefits
Performs on-site data collection at customer facilities required to perform estimating detailed development tasks
Engage new customers in assigned market to educate and promote our portfolio of solutions and identify opportunities for sales
Solicits support from and communicates effectively with operations team to ensure customer satisfaction
Develops strong working relationships with equipment OEMs and local contractors
Manage an updated proposal log of all installation and service proposals through the Salesforce platform
Provide management with monthly sales forecast of projects based on proposal log
Develop solid working relationships with our key technical partners in assigned region and engage as needed to support sales opportunities
Engage customers in the end of the warranty period to discuss and propose annual service agreements and system expansion
Acts as the customer's advocate in interactions with Johnson Controls to ensure the customer obtains the best value from the Johnson Controls offerings. Sets appropriate customer expectations on Johnson Controls product and service offerings
Required Qualifications:
Technical field experience and knowledge with installation and/or service of commercial or industrial size HVAC mechanical equipment, HVAC Controls (BAS), or large MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business. Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills
Possess strong analytical capabilities and ability to manage tasks associated with development of projects. Fully competent in analysis and assessment of facility systems
Works effectively in team settings and displays leadership. Has good written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working in customer-facing situations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and/or badges as required to perform site duties. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)
Ability to travel within the region approximately 25% required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with design build construction
Sales experience focused on Building Systems and technologies
Sales experience with maintenance and service contracts
Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Federal Government agency budgeting and contracting (acquisition) processes
Experience working with estimating software
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or a related discipline preferred
Entry level function-specific licenses or certifications preferred (e.g., Fundamental of Engineering Certification for Engineering related roles, etc.)
