Job Description:
- Perform both direct and indirect designated resident care under the direction of licensed nursing personnel.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on assigned units.
- Provide care needed by adult and geriatric patient groups, demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
- Meet resident's Activities of Daily Living (ADL) needs as outlined in the care plan and in accordance with policies and procedures, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care.
- Maintain resident's environment and safety, including answering call lights and alarms promptly, providing safety mats and low beds, using restraints under nursing direction, maintaining cleanliness of the unit, and ensuring behavioral and fall prevention.
- Meet resident's nutritional needs as outlined in the care plan, including meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and honoring resident preferences and choices.
- Address resident's rehabilitative needs according to the care plan, including range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices.
- Report resident's rights, refusals, and concerns to the Charge and/or Supervising Nurse promptly, as well as any changes in resident's physical, emotional, and psychosocial status.
- Anticipate occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and ensure compliance with safety protocols, given potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
This position requires the ability to float across various units and fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
