Basic Eligibility
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • 18 years or older
  • Able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • Subject to drug testing and polygraph examinations

The NRO Cadre is collecting resumes for consideration against current and future opportunities for Full Performance Level Acquisition Program Management Officers, occupational series 1101. For more information on the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) occupational series, click here.

This is a full time position. Your resume may be considered for other positions which your skills and experience may be a good match.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead acquisitions to ensure operational needs are addressed through reviews, design sessions, and demonstrations.
  • Manage cost, schedule, and performance for contracts that support reconnaissance systems.
  • Ensure operational readiness of new satellite missions, including testing and operational exercises.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support mission operations.
  • Investigate and recommend improvements for mission operations in areas like efficiency and resiliency.
  • Ensure readiness criteria are met and coordinate with decision-makers for mission launch.
  • Provide input on source selection and assess contractor performance across acquisition phases.
  • Work closely with contracting officers, engineers, and program teams to meet program objectives.
  • Provide recommendations and status reports to senior management on program progress.


What you need
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Management, Engineering, or Science (or equivalent experience).
  • Defense Acquisition Corps (DAC) membership (with 24 credit hours in business-related fields).
  • Meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certification within 24 months.
  • Experience with cost, schedule, and performance management in acquisition programs.
  • Leadership skills to direct multi-disciplinary teams and ensure program objectives are achieved.
  • Expertise in risk management and program oversight.


Highly Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Membership in Defense Acquisition Corps (DAC).
  • DAWIA Level III certification (or ability to obtain within 24 months).
  • Experience as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR).


Other Information
  • Overtime and travel may be required for military or commercial assignments.
  • Financial Disclosure (OGE Form 450) required upon appointment.
  • Geographic Mobility Agreement: May be subject to reassignment to support mission effectiveness and career development.
