Job Description
Job Title: Physical Therapist
Job Specialty: Rehabilitation Therapy
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (4x9's & 1x4 schedule preferred)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year
License: Hold an active license as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment
Certifications: Maintain and update physical therapy skills and certifications as necessary
Must-Have:
- Degree in Physical Therapy
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care
- Proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing services
- Computer skills necessary for job requirements (e.g., typing, Word, Internet, EMR)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist patients with mobility restraints
Job Description:
- Implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength.
- Evaluate and treat patients using rehabilitation programs.
- Use Electronic Medical Record systems to manage patient evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
- Guide and monitor all aspects of patient care and follow-up.
- Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides regarding patient care.
- Communicate with physicians and other staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Document patient charts accurately and manage follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.
- Ensure patient comfort, answering questions when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with front office staff for scheduling and patient follow-up.
- Participate in business marketing and referral processes as required.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy policies and ensure patient information privacy.
- Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations.
- Physically capable of prolonged standing, sitting, and moving during working hours, as needed for patient care.
- Maintain awareness of resident safety.
Note: No travel is expected for this position. Continuing education courses are preferred for professional development.
