Job Focus Area:
The Division of Diverse Learners serves as the program office focused on students with disabilities (SWDs) and English Learners (ELs). The structure of the Department delineates the program team (Diverse Learners) from the monitoring team and fiscal oversight team as those responsible for this work are located in the Division of Federal Support. As a result, the Diverse Learners team has the opportunity to intentionally coordinate with the Office of Teaching and Learning, Office of Career and College Readiness, Office of Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics, and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and their staff in order to raise the achievement of diverse learners.
The Education Consultant 3 is located in the Division of Diverse Learners within the Office of Teaching & Learning and reports to a classified Education Consultant Supervisor. This position serves as the primary person responsible for the coordination of special education federal, state, and public reporting. Additionally, this position will provide technical assistance to LEAs for all relevant data submissions, ensuring the data collected for reporting are error-free.
Candidates with the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply:
Experience in a data-related position, specifically with the Department's Special Education Reporting (SER) system, be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide-range of internal and external stakeholders, and be well versed in technology-based programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word, and Adobe.

Reviews work and provide input on evaluation of performance of subordinate personnel involved in a program.

Designs, develops, and pilots, programs and research projects on the basis of national/state reports, trends, economic conditions, future needs, educational research findings, and state and federal legislative or policy developments.
Serves as a team leader to assists schools and school systems in securing the best possible results for their efforts by building the capacity of school and system teams.
