Research Audiologist

iHealth is seeking a Research Audiologist to support the development of innovative OTC hearing aid products. This role is critical in conducting clinical research, consumer trials, and validation studies to advance hearing aid technology and enhance the lives of individuals with hearing loss.

The ideal candidate will lead consumer trials, clinical trials, and usability studies, collaborate on hearing aid feature development, provide remote fine-tuning services, and ensure products meet the highest standards of performance and user satisfaction. This position works closely with R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Support teams to bring cutting-edge hearing solutions to market.

Key Responsibilities

Consumer Trials & Usability Studies
  • Develop comprehensive Consumer Trial plans, including objectives, methods, and timelines.
  • Oversee and execute usability and functionality testing for OTC hearing aids.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret trial data to provide actionable insights for product improvements.

Clinical Trials & Validation Studies
  • Plan and conduct clinical validation studies to assess OTC hearing aid performance.
  • Ensure trials comply with industry standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze clinical data to evaluate hearing aid features and their effectiveness for users.

Product Development & Optimization
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to develop and refine innovative hearing aid features.
  • Provide expert audiological input to ensure products meet user needs.
  • Support product optimization through data-driven recommendations and user feedback.

Remote Fine-Tuning & User Support
  • Deliver remote consultations via tele-audiology platforms.
  • Assist users in hearing aid fitting and fine-tuning for optimal performance and satisfaction.
  • Educate users on product functionality and proper usage.

Post-Market Research & Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct post-market studies to assess long-term patient benefits and collect user feedback.
  • Monitor product performance in real-world settings and provide insights for improvement.

Qualifications

Education & Certification
  • Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or equivalent.
  • Active audiology license in the U.S. (e.g., CCC-A or state licensure).

Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of audiology experience; experience with OTC hearing aids, consumer trials, or clinical trials is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with tele-audiology platforms or remote hearing aid fine-tuning preferred.
