Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Cardiac Services
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour day shift
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of two years nursing experience in cardiac cath or interventional radiology
License: Current Registered Nurse license
Certifications: CPR certification through the American Heart Association; ACLS certification through the American Heart Association upon hire; PALS or ENPC certification through the American Heart Association within six months of hire
Must-Have: Experience with EPIC charting; Ability to use radiographic equipment; 12-Lead EKG interpretation; physiologic monitoring (intra-cardiac pressure waveform knowledge); pacemaker operations (implantable and external)
Job Description:
- Perform the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in Cardiac Cath Lab Services.
- Manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the unit.
- Promote teamwork with physicians and personnel in other departments.
- Perform professional nursing, technical, and administrative duties as they relate to the cardiac services department.
- Conduct circulate, scrub, and hemodynamic monitoring duties.
- Manage care, assessment, and instruction of patients prior to, during, and post-procedural care.
- Prepare and maintain all pertinent procedural information.
- Required equipment includes EPIC for charting.
- Attend service partner orientation and department-specific training.
Additional Information:
- The unit consists of 4-6 beds/rooms.
- Staffing may require call and some weekend shifts.
- The dress code requires scrubs.
- The position is part of a new service line anticipated to start mid-October.
- Regular and supplemental staff must complete orientation sessions tailored to the department and service requirements.
