Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety standards for humanoid robots, rethinking existing ANSI, ISO, and local regulation to pioneer how we approach Humanoid Robots as an industry and consumer
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for robot operations across all stages (from R&D to Manufacturing)
- Design safety training and operation guides for employees interacting with robots
- Establish incident management protocols including reporting, investigation, and safety improvements
- Collaborate with product teams to embed safety features into robot design. Understanding the need for compliance, reliability, and validation and how the Bots physical and motion controls will interact with people and environment keeping them safe
- Ensure safety through protocols for Tesla Bots (Optimus) operating in shared people spaces (Offices, Warehouse, Manufacturing)
- Use incident data to drive continuous safety enhancements in robot operations and design iterations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in EHS, particularly in robotics or high-tech environments
- Deep knowledge of safety standards and their application to robotics
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies like FMEA
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for safety issue anticipation
- Excellent communication skills for training and protocol dissemination
- Familiarity with AI or robotics systems, with an emphasis on safety implications

$92,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
