Position Summary Details
At Xsolis, the Sr. Cloud Security Engineer plays a role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and delivering cloud security projects and support. This role requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.
We believe that effective Sr. Cloud Security Engineer needs more than technical know-how. The role also requires several non-technical to be a success at Xsolis including the following skills: motivation, communication, organization, prioritization, problem-solving, and adaptability.
As a Sr. Cloud Security Engineer, you will help in designing and engineering cloud security solutions that will balance the need for speed and flexibility of cloud infrastructure and applications with the need to protect Xsolis against ongoing and potential security threats. This critical role requires the ability to synthesize radical ideas, the aptitude to define new security strategies and the tenacity to get the job done. To achieve results, this will require the direct partnership and ability to influence multiple levels and areas of the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Key member in security operations, event monitoring, incident responses related activities, and act as strategic partner during new deployments of cloud services working closely with the capability maturity team, business/IT leadership and others.
- Review new cloud services on a regular basis for impacts to security operations and to develop changes needed for Xsolis security operational environment in partnership with multiple stakeholders.
- Develop solution approaches for automated threat detection, behavioral analytics and other automation for managing cloud security operations.
- Provide consulting and support during deployment of new cloud security tools and/or processes to monitor and alert processes to ensure appropriate visibility around cloud compute resources.
- Help create, maintain and enhance cloud security incident response plan along with a security playbook.
- Assess existing cloud implementations, identifying security issues and prioritizing fixes.
- Understand cloud systems security vulnerabilities and associated threats and assess the overall security risks to the system.
- Provide mitigation recommendations to reduce identified security risks.
- Work directly with internal technology teams and customers to establish and enforce security best practices, protection objectives, process improvements and effective security controls.
- Thoroughly understand software installations, systems monitoring and troubleshooting, account management, and overall efforts to minimize cloud system downtime.
- Interface with governance, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure the system consistently meets the requirements for certification and audits.
- Establish key business operations relationships, providing an avenue to assess and recommend operational changes and enhancements.
- Provide strategic direction and ability to influence team members both within and outside of technology teams to achieve desired results.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; and 4+ years of related professional experience.
- Experience:
- Deep understanding of AWS services
- Deep experience of building cloud architectures
- Strong knowledge of systems, IT, networking, and cloud security
- Deep experience with automation and CI/CD
- Has mastered a wide variety of tool sets (eg. Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, Git, TeamCity)
- Deep knowledge of containerization services
- Ability to work and indirectly lead a wide range of professionals and team members.
- 5+ years of programming, scripting, or general technology

Working Environment and Travel Requirements
- Work is typically in a normal office administrative environment involving minimal exposure to physical risks.
- Position requires little to moderate physical activity. Mostly sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. No significant stooping is usually required.
