Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in Washington State, that provides students with the latest cutting edge skills relevant to today's workplace. LWTech offers ten applied bachelor's degrees, more than 40 associate degrees and 93 professional certificates, in 43 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Compensation & Work Schedule
This position is for the 2025-2026 Academic year and begins September 2025. Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. This positions ranges from $78,347-$89,926 per year; salary is for an academic year (173 days) and as may be adjusted according to the faculty bargained agreement. Summer quarter employment may be available based on student enrollment. This is a full-time, Annual Renewable position with the possibility of converting to tenure track.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Lake Washington Institute of Technology and Western Washington University have teamed up to create a seamless transition for students in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity.
We are looking for an individual with skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Ability to teach current CompTIA A+ objectives, basic scripting and PowerShell to beginning and advanced students. Current Windows and open source client operating systems (Linux on desktop and handhelds). Familiar with Linux + objectives Coverage of CompTIA Network+ objectives and develop hands-on labs: networking, virtualization, command line, and TCP/IP protocol suite including sub-netting.
- Strong introduction to Windows server administration including: installations, domains, AD, DNS, and DHCP. Hands-on labs are emphasized.
- Fundamentals of encryption, network security, VLANS, VPNs, Virtualization (Hyper-V and VMware), Cloud Computing (Azure), and emerging technologies. Develop hands-on labs using rack-mounted servers, switches, and storage arrays. Depending on your abilities the position will center around one of the four areas listed above. The current instructors can teach across much of the material (offer lots of mentoring) and we would like to add new members to our team!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to the program goals
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum
- Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination
- Teach productive and constructive study skills to students
- Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures
- Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements
- Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students
- Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning
- Conduct outreach in the community and with local high schools to promote the program Advise students on career and educational paths, including job portfolios
In addition, Full-Time Faculty will also:
- Maintain regular office hours
- Develop curriculum and develop and assess program and educational outcomes Perform advising, recruiting, and retention activities
- Hold regular meetings of the program advisory committee
- Take part in college accreditation, program review, and college committees as specified in the faculty bargained agreement
- Perform other professional activities as approved by the director and dean
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred, in Information Technology or a closely related field
- 2 or more years current, directly-related computer and network work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating systems and computer networks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Additional skill sets that would be 'nice-to-have' but not required.
- CompTIA A+ certification CompTIA Network+ certification
- Familiarity with command line, PowerShell, and Linux Shell scripts Teaching experience
