Summary
Apple is seeking an enthusiastic silicon engineer to join our system design team responsible for the development of iPad! As a key member of our creating and collaborative engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in silicon based technologies that drive the success of our products, which are used by millions of Apple users worldwide. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of silicon development, including the conceptualization of innovative concepts, requirements gathering, design review, validation, and manufacturing data analysis. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and failure analysis to ensure the reliability of our silicon-based solutions. This unique hardware design position encompasses the entire lifecycle of a product, from its conceptualization in silicon to its initial customer shipment and subsequent in-field diagnostic monitoring.
Description
Effective communication is paramount in this role. The candidate will collaborate with a diverse range of cross-functional partners within Apple and external organizations spanning various engineering disciplines to develop new product features and refine existing ones. This position requires a deep understanding and familiarity with system-level aspects of mixed-signal silicon development and execution to ensure the reliability of our silicon-based solutions for high-volume production. The candidate will be expected to drive actions with silicon design teams independently and proactively to meet the system requirements for our high-volume programs.
Responsibilities include:
Develop innovative product features and enhancements for existing ones
Plan and architect system/subsystem silicon
Distill system requirements into silicon definition
Review silicon designs to ensure they meet the documented requirements
Support on prototype component selection, schematic, and PCB layout
Creation of validation plans and bench validation of system hardware and software
Specify factory tests and review data for said tests ensuring reliable high-volume manufacturing
System debugging
Occasionally travel in the US and overseas to meet with internal design teams, 3rd party design teams, or our manufacturing teams.
