Role Summary/Purpose
The Chemical Process Engineer will use expertise associated with the Management of Chemical Cleaning, Waste water, Abrasive Blasting, and supporting Water Jet on Aircraft Engine components. Will support current operation to New Product Industrialization, Technologies and ensuring that the company meets the Engine Shop Manual (ESM) standards.
Maintain a working relationship and regular communication with the process experts of the OEM.

Role Summary/Purpose
The Chemical Process Engineer will use expertise associated with the Management of Chemical Cleaning, Waste water, Abrasive Blasting, and supporting Water Jet on Aircraft Engine components. Will support current operation to New Product Industrialization, Technologies and ensuring that the company meets the Engine Shop Manual (ESM) standards.
Maintain a working relationship and regular communication with the process experts of the OEM.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review ESM, develop, implement and maintain Chemical Solutions, Abrasive Blasting, and Water Jet Processes compliant to the ESM (incl. systems for control and replenishment of materials).
- Develop and oversee the process controls for checking concentration and titration of bath solutions such as nitric acid, alkaline, DI water while maintaining safety, quality, and high level of productivity.
- Responsible for all chemical cleaning, abrasive blasting (wet/dry).
- Interface with Industries and evaluate changes that affect the company and communicate to teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy.
- Drive the qualification of special processes and equipment.
- Define and continually improve Operator training and Qualification, Process planning, Evaluate operating methods, and Specifies tools, fixtures and gages.
- Promote innovative repair solutions with the support of the Product Engineer in reducing lead-time, quality improvements, cost effectiveness, and/or EHS improvements.
- Support the quality integration of ISO/QC/ FAA documentation and ESM methods instructions.
- Innate and/or drive New Product Industrialization analysis of capabilities for (Process, Equipment, Tooling) Part flow, CapEx and Cost.
- Generate work instructions including accountable for training and provide advice/counsel to the team.
- Participate or drive capital expenditure projects from specifications to installation
- Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to processes consumables and/or equipment
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Qualifications/Requirements
- Engineering Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of experience:
- Including Manufacturing Engineering and/or processes Engineering Specialist, in aircraft engines component repair or manufacturing
- Have comprehensive knowledge in Met lab by checking & making the concentration and titration of bath solutions such as nitric acid, alkaline, DI water... to the requirements of the Engine Manual
- Have a general understanding on any of the following processes outside your expertise: Plasma spraying, TIG welding, EB Welding, Brazing, Tooling Design, Painting, Shot peening, Heat treatments, General blending, Dimensional inspection, NDT (FPI, MPI, X-Ray, ECI, UT)
- Have a significant experience and expertise in at least one or two of the process listed above
- Knowledge in Statistical Process Control
- knowledge and general understanding of Lean Manufacturing : Green Belt certification will be particularly appreciated
- Work in a team environment
- Read engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude, Project Management skills, Interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in technical writing
Desired Characteristics
- Working knowledge of aerospace materials and components
- Familiarity with Heat Treat, Brazing, Metallography, High Pressure Water Jet
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Ability to use problems methodologies such as (Lean, 6 Sigma, 8D, 5 why's, VSM etc...)
- Black Belt or Green Belt Certification
- Previous manufacturing experience in aircraft engines MRO industry
- Prior experience writing technical specifications
