| What we are looking for
Reporting to the Director, Business Operations Readiness, the Senior Business Process Analyst is responsible and accountable to work closely with the RTR Operations Lead and Operational Readiness and Change Management teams to support the development and documentation of detailed RTR service management and operational business processes and procedures for internal and external stakeholders, including RTR participants, Bank of Canada, RTR service providers and Payments Canada.
The development of the deliverables will be based on sound and credible data gathered from collaboration with various sources, which includes work streams within the Program, internal teams within Payments Canada including Payments Operations, Technology, Service Management, Security Operations, the RTR Industry migration team and other sources of information.
This is a temporary position for a 12-month term.

| A day in the life
Your responsibilities as a Senior Business Process Analyst will include but are not limited to:
Research, Business and Operations Analysis:
- You will assist with development, documentation, implementation and operation of the payment service operations for the RTR System.
- You will assist with the rollout of payment service operations; ensure that processes and procedures are established prior to deployment; act as RTR support lead throughout pre-deployment, deployment and transition to operations periods.
- You will provide complete, accurate and timely project related information to the RTR Operations Lead and analyze the business needs of Payments Canada stakeholders with the use of detailed requirements and the documentation of processes and procedures.
- You will Investigate the implications of RTR to Payments Canada stakeholders and participate in further development of the RTR operating model design using the detailed business processes and procedures to ensure that the capabilities to be delivered are clearly understood by the RTR Operational Readiness Team & Payments Canada Core Operations.
- You will provide support and subject matter expertise to other divisions with respect to Operational Readiness.
- You will support RTR testing activities and provide subject matter expertise and participate in the testing of Payments Canada specific processes.
- You will review and provide feedback on operational deliverables (e.g. BCP/DR plan, service management plan, on-boarding/off-boarding processes, asset inventory) submitted by the RTR service providers; as well as coordinate review processes of vendor deliverables with different workstream leads.
Relationship Management:
- You are responsible to establish relationships with Payments Canada internal and external stakeholders in order to develop comprehension of their day to day operations relating to RTR.
- You will work with internal stakeholders to elicit, validate, and document functional, operational business processes using interviews, document analysis, and workshops.
- You will collaborate with others to generate, elaborate, and champion creative ideas to solve problems and seize opportunities.
|What you need to be successful
- MBA or related Master's Degree and technical experience in the financial industry OR five (5) years of experience working directly with payments systems.
- Must demonstrate experience in business analysis, requirements gathering and requirements documentation, process engineering, change management, end-to-end system and user acceptance testing, and enterprise implementation activities.
- Experience working with complex systems and processes.
- Experience communicating complex ideas with clear language and visualizations tailored to the audience.
- Strong organizational skills with a continuous improvement perspective.
- Experience in building strong effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Occasional travel will be required between Toronto and Ottawa
- Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

| Salary range
- Based on qualifications and experience: $93,637 to $117,046.
