Job Summary
The Division of Infectious Diseases and the Center of Excellence in Inflammation, Infectious Diseases, and Immunity at ETSU seek a physician-scientist (MD or MD/PhD) in HIV research. The focus is on HIV pathogenesis and therapy, with administrative oversight of a Ryan White-funded Center of Excellence for HIV/AIDS care. This is a unique opportunity to advance your research career while contributing to patient care and medical education in a collegial and supportive environment. Responsibilities include collaborative research, clinical and/or translational research development, and obtaining/maintaining extramural funding, and patient care.
The successful candidate will work in a collegial environment, with access to a robust biorepository and clinical research office, collaborating with over 50 investigators. Opportunities for global health involvement are available.

Responsibilities:
- Administrative oversight of the Center for HIV/AIDS Care (20%)
- Direct patient care (10%), mainly ambulatory
- 70% protected time for research and scholarly activities
- Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
- Participating in administrative and committee work to support ETSU Health and the College of Medicine

- Strong communication skills
- Potential to obtain extramural funding
Required Qualifications
- MD, DO, or equivalent
- ABIM Board Certified or Eligible
- Eligible to obtain TN Medical License
- Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in infectious diseases
- Research experience with successful peer-reviewed publications
Preferred Qualifications
- MD, PhD, or significant research experience as an MD
