Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce safety protocols for Autonomous operations, ensuring proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Ensure all Autonomous operations comply with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, adapting to changes in legislation related to autonomous vehicles
- Collaborate with product development teams to integrate safety features that align with the mission of providing affordable and accessible transportation
- Develop training programs for staff, contractors, and partners on EHS protocols and best practices specific to autonomous vehicle technology
- Establish and manage a system for reporting, investigating, and learning from any incidents involving autonomy, enhancing safety measures continuously
- Manage compliance and EHS site ownership of a central hub location. Serve as the EHS liaison for multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment and timely resolution of EHS issues
- Engage with local communities, government bodies, and stakeholders to address concerns, promote transparency, and ensure EHS considerations are part of community dialogues
Requirements
- Degree in Safety Engineering, Public Health, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 2 years in the transportation or automotive sector
- Strong understanding of autonomous vehicle technology, AI, and robotics as they pertain to EHS
- Proven track record in managing large-scale EHS programs, particularly in innovative and high-tech environments. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups including technical teams, executives, regulatory bodies, and the public
- Passion for safety, sustainability, and innovation, with a drive to contribute to the transformation of urban mobilit
