Job Title: CT Technologist
Job Specialty: Radiology/Cardiology - CT Tech
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (09:00 - 19:30), Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience
License: Must be licensed by the state Board of Medical Imaging
Certifications: ARRT (CT) registry or equivalent, CPR card
Must-Have:
- Proficient in IV/Angio-cath starts and administration of contrast media via power injection
- Knowledge of normal and abnormal cross-sectional anatomy/pathology
- Experience with multi-detector CT scan equipment
Job Description:
Operate multi-slice CT scanners to perform exams with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of equipment.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to evaluate anatomy and any related pathologies for presentation to the Radiologist.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in CT physics and radiation safety.
Exercise responsible judgment in recognizing and reporting significant situations relating to patient care.
Prepare and instruct patients for diagnostic exams using age-appropriate communication skills.
Adjust scanning factors and patient positioning to eliminate or minimize artifacts.
Adhere to the ALARA principle while optimizing exams to obtain the highest image quality with the lowest possible radiation dose.
Perform all ranges of exams after completion of technical competencies and stay current with new CT technology hardware and software upgrades.
Verify complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service.
Verify imaging order and protocol in the patient's electronic medical record.
Responsible for correctly identifying patients by complying with Imaging department Patient Identification Policy.
Label images completely and accurately with patient demographics, position, or other required documentation.
Follow through with all aspects of scanning duties for efficient and timely completion of examinations, correct data entry, begin and complete with correct billing, and verify that images are in PACS.
Pre-screen all patients for sensitivity and contraindications to contrast medications used during imaging exams.
Implement the correct types of contrast and injection factors on a case-by-case basis.
Generate a CD or DVD of imaging exams as needed.
Provide for personal and patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards.
Explain procedures to patients to assure clear answers to their questions and concerns, allaying any anxiety and assuring patient confidence.
Maintain a safe working environment by following infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with clinical staff, patients, and families to create a collaborative environment.
