JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for managing the CICS mainframe environment, deploying, configuring, and testing the infrastructure and applications. This individual will be responsible for managing mainframe storage and should be knowledgeable of BMC/Innovation's FDR DASD management system, SMS storage concepts and facilities and EMC DASD array facilities. This role will be part of the mainframe team. There are an on-call rotation responsibilities for this role to support after hours business needs including nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
CICS/TS RDO and base definitions.
CICS/TS and ISV software installation, integration, and configuration.
Acceptance and Integration of Application Changes
CICS/TS New Function / Product Evaluation
Responsible for CICS/TS DR testing procedures
Capacity planning and tuning of CICS/TS applications.
Monitoring and reporting on CICS/TS system performance
Evaluate CICS/TS tools to exploit features and improve productivity.
Conduct trouble shooting and debugging of problems and contact IBM or the correct vendor to obtain support and fixes.
Disk storage management:
BMC/Innovation's FDR DASD management system
o ABR, DSF, Compaktor, FDREPORT, FDRQUERY, FDRREORG
SMS storage concepts and facilities
o ACS routines, Storage Groups, Storage Classes, Data Classes, Management Classes
EMC DASD array facilities
o Replication
o BCVs
o BIN file maintenance
Qualifications
Experience in CICS Systems Programming.
Experience managing mainframe disk storage.
Programming experience in COBOL, Assembler, or REXX is desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills
Familiarity with Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) concepts and Access Method Services
Familiarity with SMP/e
Install maintenance and upgrades to the CICS product Working knowledge of the underlying z/OS operating system platform.
Working knowledge of z/OS Job Control Language (JCL)
