JOB SUMMARY:
The Materials Manager is responsible for owning demand forecasting and ensuring availability of material to support production
requirements. This role works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to build and deliver a demand plan to support customer
demand.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise demand planning team in demand management activities.
Oversee daily activities of Scheduling and Planning team and provide guidance as needed.
Coordinate daily "run-the-business" meetings as appropriate - for example, - production meeting, level loading, parts shortage, etc.
Work with management, inventory, supply chain and sales teams in demand planning operations.
Functions as JDE, Power BI and data analytics expert for the Materials group.
Identify demand forecast risks and develop effective mitigation plans.
Develop demand plan based on business trends and demand patterns.
Analyze and troubleshoot demand related issues in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist in developing annual budgets and cost-effectiveness initiatives.
Maintain training materials and organize trainings to team members.
Follow and enforce company rules and regulations..
Develop routine and ad-hoc demand related reports for management.
Schedule forecast review meetings with management on regular basis.
Maintain demand planning processes to improve forecast accuracy.
Work with team to plan, coordinate and execute demand planning activities.
Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion and retention activities.
Update forecasts for new products, seasonal products, discounts, promotions.
Coordinate with inventory team to monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.
Supports continuous improvement strategy
Implement level loading across Focus Factories
Learn and execute strategic vision of Supermarket (designated storage) and PFEP
Learn and promote lean methodologies - Visual management, Gemba, Kanban, Structured Problem Solving, etc.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a planning/scheduling role.
Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Less than 5% travel associated with this role.
