OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

The primary role of the Director, Manufacturing is to oversee the entire manufacturing operations across multiple production facilities, ensuring efficient production, high quality standards, cost effectiveness and compliance with regulations. This will be achieved through strategically managing teams at each plant, optimizing production processes, and coordinating cross-site initiatives to achieve overall company goals.

HIGH LEVEL TASKS
  • Strategic Planning & Leadership
  • Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing strategies aligned with company objectives, including production targets, capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives across all plants.
  • Plant Operations Management
  • Direct and oversee day-to-day operations at multiple manufacturing facilities, including production scheduling, resource allocation, quality control, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Performance Monitoring & Analysis
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) across plants, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective actions to optimize production efficiency and cost control
  • Cross Site Coordination
  • Facilitate collaboration between different plants, ensuring consistent quality standards, best practices sharing, and coordinated responses to operational challenges.
  • Supplier Management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage inventory levels to optimize production flow
  • Capital Expenditure Planning
  • Identify and prioritize capital investment needs for plant upgrades and new equipment to enhance production capabilities.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing new technologies, process optimization techniques, and lean manufacturing practices across all plants.


COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Ability)
  • Proven leadership experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations across multiple sites
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize costs, and drive operational efficiency
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements
  • Must be equipped to drive, facilitate and drive cross-functional collaboration at all times
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, influencing and change leadership skills
  • Must possess the courage to make critical and difficult decisions independently, however, utilizing effective critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships strong business relationships with regulatory agencies - to be a bridge builder
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant degree/ in Engineering, Operations Management or related field
  • Must have minimum 10 years progressive Food Manufacturing Experience
