Direct Counsel is seeking a Patent Agent/Advisor with industry experience and a technical background in engineering to join a highly active patent counseling and prosecution practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge medical technologies in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Analyze patents and scientific literature to support patent prosecution, litigation, and counseling.
• Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Bioelectrical Engineering (or a related field).
• At least one year of law firm experience handling patent counseling and prosecution.
• Industry experience in chemical engineering, materials science, or related disciplines.
• Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• USPTO registration required (or eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration exam).
• Advanced degree preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $125,000 - $205,000 (Final offer based on experience and location).
