The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Patrol Deputy to join our team.

You will play a key role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law. Working under the supervision of a Sergeant or designee, you will be responsible for patrolling designated areas, responding to emergency and non-emergency calls and investigating criminal activity. Your duties will include enforcing laws, making arrests and working closely with members of the community to prevent crime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent crime and respond to incidents.
  • Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
  • Respond to calls for assistance, including emergencies and disputes.
  • Make arrests, issue warnings or summons, and conduct investigations.
  • Protect crime scenes, gather evidence, and take witness statements.
  • Transport arrestees and prepare reports for court proceedings.
  • Testify in criminal and civil court as required.
  • Assist detectives and other law enforcement personnel in investigations.

The Person
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid Colorado driver's licence (or ability to obtain one).
  • Colorado Post certified and non-certified applicants are accepted.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
