We are seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead our Test Department and support critical projects within our Engineering Department. This dynamic role is based in Ripley, MS, and combines strategic project management with hands-on leadership. You will oversee lab, design, process, and quality systems projects, managing key initiatives such as Design Validation Plans (DVPRs), Process Control & Improvement Plans (PCIPs), and risk analyses (DEFMEA/PFMEA). Key Responsibilities
People & Team Leadership
- Team Management: Provide daily leadership and direction to Associate Test Technicians, cultivating a high-performing and motivated team.
- Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison among the Test & Sustaining Quality Manager, Test Engineers, Associate Test Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Project & Process Management
- Project Oversight: Manage multiple projects simultaneously-from high-priority experiments to lab builds-ensuring timely and successful execution.
- Plan Management: Track and support the execution of Design Validation Plans (DVPRs) and Process Control & Improvement Plans (PCIPs).
- Risk Analysis: Participate in Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DEFMEA/PFMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
Test Department Operations
- System Management: Oversee the test request and reporting systems for the Engineering Department.
- SOP Development: Create, update, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and calibration schedules for lab equipment.
- Data Management: Conduct data collection and analysis (using both script-based and manual methods), and deliver concise reports using tools like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Communication & Strategic Insight
- Effective Reporting: Communicate project outcomes and insights clearly to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Problem Resolution: Identify, escalate, and resolve issues effectively, ensuring that project objectives are met.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in product testing, test lab operations, and product development, with proven project management skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with PLC Logic systems, MatLab, Python, R, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to inspire teams, strategic thinking, and exceptional documentation and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management: Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience with data acquisition (DAQ) technology and complex data analysis, including coding in MatLab or equivalent software with emphasis on R&R statistics.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in a test lab environment, and familiarity with water chemistry, water treatment, and methodologies such as DFMEA, PFMEA, DVPR, and PCP.
Travel
- Moderate travel requirement (approximately 25%).
