The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Transplant Surgery, seeks Clinical Associates at 100% effort for renewable 3-year terms. Appointees will assist with various clinical responsibilities within the abdominal transplant programs. They will be responsible for abdominal organ procurement; assisting in the operating room during living donor, kidney, liver, islet and pancreas transplants, managing liver perfusion device/Organox; and caring for patients in the inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be board-certified or board-eligible by The American Board of Surgery or the foreign equivalent, and 4) have completed an American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) accredited fellowship or equivalent training in kidney and/or liver and/or pancreas transplantation.
