PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Shuttle Management
Responsible for all planning and budgeting for shuttle operations
Manages shuttle operations utilizing key analytical reports and metrics
Adjusts equipment and driver staffing to meet plant and cost objectives
These areas of focus and responsibilities also include Backlog, Maintenance Monitoring, Shuttle
Turnover, Dedicated, Pack, Trailer Capital Planning, Driver Metrics, Rentals Monitoring, Truck Capital
Planning, Equipment Cost, Repair Tracking, Volume Mix / Changes, Fuel Monitoring, RGT Invoice
Processing, Wage/benefit monitoring, Linehaul, Shuttle Metrics, Xata Training / System

Forward Warehouse Network Operations Oversight:
Collaborate with the Forward Warehouse team on network design, cost management, and inventory
oversight.
These areas of focus and responsibilities also include Contract Negotiations, Inventory Accuracy, Rail -
damage assessment, Cost/Price, Inventory Levels, Service, Damages, Network Design, Some travel
involved, Dunnage Returns, Pest Control, Warehouse Market intel (space/rates)

Pallet Management:
Oversee pallet strategies, including white, 2-way, CHEP, and pack strategy.
Ensure effective management of pallet inventory and usage.
These focus areas and responsibilities include Audits, Inbound, Quality, CHEP, Inventory Supply, Cost Control, Pack Strategy, Two-Way Pallet Plans, Fine / Penalty Tracking, PECO, and White Wood.

Cost Management:
  • Collaborate with finance and operational teams to monitor and control costs.
  • Analyze cost structures to identify opportunities for savings.

Scheduling and Resource Allocation:
  • Oversee scheduling for warehouse operations to optimize resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with inspectors for USDA compliance and scheduling.

Inventory Management:
Manage inventory processes, including Brite, slow-moving, salvage, and distressed inventory.
Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Rail Damage Prevention and Claims Management:
Develop and implement strategies to prevent rail damage and manage claims effectively.

Project Management
Directs activities of project teams as assigned
Ongoing evaluation of forward network alternatives and strategy
Evaluates systems and automation projects for all warehouse facilities

Budgets
Responsible for budgeting Logistics, Rail Center, and DC budgets
Tracks, investigates and reports on budget variances

Communications
Communication link between warehouse group and Logistics regarding service questions
Consult with the human resources department on employee relations, payroll, employee attendance,
disciplinary actions, etc.
Communicates monthly status reports on KPI's.
Coordinates with Purchasing on space availability for materials build

Distribution Center (Future State Responsibility)
Leadership Oversight of the Distribution Center (Maximizing Safety, Service, and Cost Control)
These areas of focus and responsibilities also include appointment capacity, damages, food
safety/security, missed appointments, storage utilization, Appointment rebalancing, DC labor, fork truck
costs/contract, storm/event response, Automation, DC layout, fuel management, and overtime hours,
Backlog management, dock fluidity, Google reviews, and parking/concrete maintenance, Brite/empty
can storage, dock maintenance, heat/fan activities, pest control, and winter preparedness,
Building/grounds maintenance, drop-and-hook space, hold product residency, and process
improvement, Capital planning, equipment management, inventory accuracy, quality audits, and yard
maintenance, Carrier incidents, expedited/high-touch orders, inventory storage limits, and regulatory
hours, Case fill rate, external driver experience, kiosks, safety, cost and budget control, and fines/late
loads, Leadership development, storage capacity, and process standardization.

Warehouse Operations Management (Future State Responsibility):
  • Lead and manage both plant and overflow warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate and manage the design and facilities of the overflow warehouse network.
  • Develop and implement strategies for capacity planning and backlog reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
  • These areas of focus and responsibilities also include 3rd Party Overflow warehouse, Dunnage,
    Leadership Development, Process Standardization, Rust Mitigation, Bin Storage Planning, Equipment,
    Innovation, Material Handling Equipment, Rail, Backlog, Wagons, Contract Negotiations, Inbound Can
    Planning, Material Handling Techniques, Rail Claims, Warehouse Manager Back Up, Coordination
    Among Plants, Inbound, Overflow Warehouse Strategy, Rail Loading Quality, Warehouse Utilization/
    Overflow, Crisis Response, Inbound Paste / Dice Bins, Plant Backlog, Return Bins, Winterizing /
    Seasonal Preparedness, Demurrage, Inbound Purchased, Process Modernization, Risk Management /
    Insurance, WMS

Supervision (Future State Responsibility)
DC and plant warehouse leadership for all who will work in warehousing
Leads training and development initiatives in the Warehouse group

Processes and Metrics:
Lead the selection, development, and implementation of new supply chain systems and department
KPIs.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and institute corrective actions to align with business
strategies.
Review service goals at the plant level, identify root causes of service failures and implement solutions
to ensure total customer satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering,
or Business.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive supply chain and/or logistics experience.
At least 5 years in leadership, preferably in process-based industries (food, chemical, or
pharmaceutical).
Experience in multi-plant manufacturing and distribution networks.
Proven ability to lead project teams, particularly in system implementations.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Strong leadership capabilities and a participative management style.
Ability to develop others and implement succession planning.
Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Other:
Monitor and maintain compliance with Food Safety and Quality Plan requirements.
Report food safety and quality issues to management.
Participate in Business Continuity Planning efforts.
