This role focuses on validation of induction motors and generators, ensuring they meet production readiness standards. The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for validation planning and assessment, rather than direct execution of tests.

Job Overview: We are seeking a Validation Engineer to join the Electrification and Energy Solutions (E+ES) division in Mossville, IL. This role focuses on validation of induction motors and generators, ensuring they meet production readiness standards. The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for validation planning and assessment, rather than direct execution of tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee validation plans to ensure component readiness for production.
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments.
- Identify potential gaps in lab space, facilities, or testing resources.
- Present validation progress and status updates during gate reviews to management.
- Collaborate with test engineers and design teams to ensure smooth execution of testing processes.
- Support electric drive system development and validation efforts.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Strong background in electric drive systems, specifically induction motor validation and generator testing.
- Experience with FMEA methodologies and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
- 9+ years of relevant experience preferred (senior-level role at CAT).
- Familiarity with CAT's MPI process or electric vehicle product development (automotive sector experience is a plus).
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (highly preferred).
Work Environment & Travel:
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 remote (subject to project requirements).
- Limited travel to local testing facilities, Tucson Proving Grounds, or supplier sites as needed.
Interview Process:
- One-hour Teams interview in a panel format.
- Combination of targeted selection and technical questions (STAR method).
- Initial round includes three candidates, with potential for additional rounds.
