Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Job Specialty: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Guaranteed Hours: To be discussed
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience required
License: N/A
Certifications:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification by the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
Must-Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
- One-year clinical internship in a NAACLS accredited clinical laboratory science program or an approved alternate career path meeting certification eligibility
- Phlebotomy experience
- Preferred experience with Cerner Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
Job Description:
- Perform tests and procedures in assigned sections, exercising independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative tests, adhering to established guidelines and predetermined criteria.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems that may affect test performance and results using critical thinking skills and professional judgment.
- Work as a generalist or specialist in a core laboratory setting.
- Ensure quality control and maintain laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate laboratory findings.
- Maintain accurate records of test results and laboratory activities.
