Position Description:
Candidates selected to fill the role of literacy intervention/Title I teacher for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence for each and every student. This will be done by working with students to identify strengths and weaknesses and coach them towards developing fundamental reading and comprehension skills. This position may also serve to provide expertise to grade level PLC's with regards to providing classroom teachers with reading strategies to work with all students. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.

Qualifications:
- Must have a valid MN teaching license.
- K-12 Reading Licensure Preferred
- Core OL/LA or READ Act Training requirements completed
- OG Training completed or willing to complete prior to start of position
- Ideal candidate will have previous elementary level teaching experience and extensive understanding of reading strategies to promote literacy skills.
- Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of core areas in Language Arts and early literacy.
- Ideal candidates should also have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
- Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents and staff.
- Must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances.
- Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
- Must be able to produce, analyze and respond to relevant data about student learning.
