Job Description

Purpose of Position:

To abstract and analyze patient medical records and other sources of quality metric data for the purpose of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement, and to provide support for Quality Management team and entire Quality department in an effort to enhance the quality of care provided to patients and workflow for all employees

Unit Specific:

Performs primary data abstraction duties for Core Measures and registries and ensures high levels of abstraction accuracy for assigned work via validation activities for both Jacobi and North Central Bronx.

Demonstrates strong communication, documentation, organizing and planning skills to ensure strong leadership of multiple accounts concurrently.

Performs Ad hoc or special project data abstraction, entry and analysis in order to support the Quality Assurance Program.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital, Health, Public or Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Public Health or a related discipline; and four (4) years of full-time, paid progressively responsible experience in hospital administration with an emphasis on the development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in #1 above; and five (5) years of full-time, paid experience, as described in #1 above.
