Job Title: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic
Job Specialty: Adult Oncology
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 4 Days, 10-Hour Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Experience: 1 Year of Experience Required
License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
Must-Have:
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration
- Strong patient care skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to cultural and language needs
- Computer skills
Job Description:
- Administer PO, SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide expert information about chemotherapy, including potential side effects, and consult with other medical personnel.
- Assume responsibility for clinic-specific assignments.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during procedures requiring conscious sedation and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary.
- Manage the initiation, regulation, and monitoring of intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently and effectively communicate with patients and families.
- Inform patients and families about clinic procedures and provide chemotherapy-related educational information.
- Schedule patient follow-up activities related to treatment and assist with the coordination of care.
- Delegate tasks to support staff and make referrals regarding patient care needs as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
