Chubb is looking for a leader who wants a role where they can make a difference. The Regional Head of House Counsel is a strategically important role in the North America Claims organization and reports directly to the Chief Technical Officer, North America Claims. The candidate will co-manage and direct House Counsel operations for 18 offices, and approximately 200 employees, across nine states and Canada. This responsibility includes the development and execution of a strategic plan to maximize the value of the House Counsel team to the Company.

Primary Responsibilities
Specific day-to-day responsibilities of the Regional Head of House Counsel will include:
  • Co-management of all aspects of the House Counsel function across all offices and jurisdictions, including administrative, operational, financial/budgetary, personnel and performance management.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to measure, monitor and increase the performance and value of the House Counsel function to the Company. This includes close coordination with North America Claims leadership and management to identify value enhancing activities and opportunities consistent with a best-in-class organization.
  • Establish and maintain a data driven management culture designed to identify and promote activities consistent with a best-in-class House Counsel function.
  • Perform peer analyses and identify benchmarking metrics for the evolution of a high value House Counsel function.
  • Implement and oversee audit and quality control processes.
  • Drive, develop and maintain high standards for all House Counsel colleagues consistent with the Chubb Claims Culture Principles of Teamwork, Value, and Execution.
  • Establish and maintain oral and written reporting to senior claims and business management as requested.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. or foreign university or college.
  • J.D. degree
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years legal experience at a law firm or house counsel operation at a property and casualty insurance company or 15 years claims litigation and management experience in casualty or financial lines claims.
  • Experience managing a large and geographically dispersed multi-layered organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Working knowledge and experience with data and financial reporting and analysis.

The pay range for the role is $245,000 to $275,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
