Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Ensure the security of the network infrastructure and address vulnerabilities.
- Implement routing and switching protocols for optimal performance.
- Provide technical support to team members and other departments.
- Document network configurations and maintain accurate system records.
- Collaborate with IT teams to plan network upgrades and expansions.
- Conduct routine testing and updates to network systems.
- Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software solutions.
- Establish and maintain disaster recovery solutions for the network infrastructure.
- Participate in capacity planning and network design initiatives.
- Keep abreast of emerging networking technologies and trends.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain network policies and procedures.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior network staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in network engineering or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with firewall configurations and access control.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN technologies and design.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIA) preferred.
- In-depth understanding of network security principles.
- Proven experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with cloud networking solutions is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
