Introduction

The Section 8 Supervisor serves as a primary resource within the CDA's mission with responsibility for efficient and effective supervision of the Section 8 Housing Assistance staff and Section 8 Program implementation performing responsible administrative and supervisory work operation of federally funded Community Development Authority Housing Assistance programs and functions.

Position Summary

This work is characterized by judgment, discretion, and initiative in planning, coordinating, supervising, and performing program activities consistent with federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements, and departmental policies and procedures. This position supervises, assigns work, trains new staff, responds to complaints, assists with difficult clients and coordinates with the Admissions and Eligibility Supervisor. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Client Services Manager who reviews the work primarily for compliance with stated programmatic objectives, policies, and procedures.

Salary Information

$76,903.32 - $91,258.70 Annually

Job Details

  • Manage personnel resources to successfully administer all program components.
  • Oversee and monitor inspections as required by HUD regulations to ensure code and contract compliance.
  • Oversee and/or conduct individual/group briefing sessions and the interviewing of program applicants and participants to determine their qualification based on HUD guidelines.
  • Coordinate and/or develop the documentation necessary to support decisions.
  • Respond to Section 8 complaints, meets with clients as needed, and assists with difficult clients
  • Coordinate program workflow and staffing as necessary with the Admissions and Eligibility Supervisor. Implement a collection process aimed at minimizing the negative budgetary and program integrity impacts of fraud and delinquencies.
  • Audit files for compliance with program regulations to prepare for audits by City and HUD auditors.


Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of responsible related professional, paraprofessional, and/or property management experience, including at least one (1) year of which focused on the interpretation of related federal program requirements and one (1) year of which included lead work, project/program leadership/coordination/management, or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Public Administration or a related area.
