The Licensed Mental Health Professional will contribute to the mission of the PTSD Foundation of America to bring hope and healing to Combat Veterans and their families suffering from combat-related Post Traumatic Stress. We attempt to bring healing by knowing principles, processes for individual and group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures, and their history and origins while providing mental health services to the Clients at Camp Hope. The Licensed Mental Health Professional will also help individuals deal with thoughts of suicide; addictions and substance abuse, family, parenting, and marital problems; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging and mental and emotional health.
Job Description: The Licensed Mental Health Professional must have knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Possess an understanding of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions and career counseling and guidance.
Responsibilities: The Licensed Mental Health Professional has the following responsibilities and duties:
Possess considerable knowledge of PTSD and general mental disorders, psychosocial aspects of PTSD and general mental disorders, and understanding of the needs of the Veteran Community.
Maintains confidentiality of records relating to the client's treatment.
Guides clients in developing skills and strategies to deal with their problems.
Evaluates the client's physical or mental condition based on a review of client information. Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
Collects information about clients through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports.
Counsel clients and families, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
Guides clients in developing skills and strategies to deal with their problems. Encourages clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives and helps them develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
Any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements: The Licensed Mental Health Professional should have the following skills, education, and experience:
Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field (Required).
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Be a Veteran. (Preferred).
Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
Competency in Microsoft (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), Medical Software Systems
Completed 30-hour Care & Counsel for Combat Trauma and Combat Trauma Healing Manual.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly require sitting or standing for extended periods.
Ability to lift packages up to 50 pounds if needed
Occasional exposure to air and blood-borne pathogens may require wearing specialized personal protective equipment and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Compensation: The PTSD Foundation will provide the following compensation:
Salary: $75,000 - 90,000
